Safety & Health Measures

Coronavirus disease is infectious and can be spread from one person to another mainly by respiratory droplets expelled from the nose or mouth when a person coughs or sneezes.

These droplets can be found on objects or surfaces around the person in question. Covid-19 can then be contracted if you touch these objects or surfaces and then touch your eyes, nose, or mouth.

The risk of getting Covid-19 from someone who has no symptoms is very low. However, many people with the disease have mild symptoms in the early stages of the disease (for example, a mild cough).

It is then possible to contract Covid-19 through contact with these people, even if they do not feel sick. Therefore, it is important to stay more than a metre away from a sick person.

Covid-19 Precautions

It is important to protect yourself and others from the infection. The best way to prevent and slow down the transmission is to be well informed and some of the major precautions are:

  • Practice respiratory hygiene, for example by coughing into a flexed elbow or always cover with a handkerchief or tissue paper when sneezing or coughing.
  • Wear your masks.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap, hand-wash, or use a hand sanitizer.
  • Practice social/physical distancing: Stay at least 1 metre away from each other.
  • Do not touch public objects if possible.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth to prevent the virus from entering your body.
